Rug Care
Rug pad is recommended. Upon receiving your rug unroll it and fluff it out. The shipping process can matte it down. Some initial shedding is normal. You can vacuum your rug regularly but do not use a vacuum with a beater bar and only use suction attachments. Clean spills immediately by using a damp, clean cloth but do not over-wet. We recommend placing a dry, clean cloth directly on top of spill and place a heavy object on top of cloth to absorb excess moisture. Leave the cloth in this position overnight to transfer the spill to the dry cloth. Professional cleaning recommended.

About Anji Mountain Bamboo Rug Company
Anji Mountain Bamboo Chairmat &Rug Co.® was founded in 2003 and has established itself as one of the finest source of bamboo and natural fiber flooring products on the market today. This family run business is founded on the principle that only sustainable uses of the earth’s natural resources can be tolerated. Bamboo’s astonishing renewability and versatility creates lots of new ecologically positive possibilities at a time when they are desperately needed. It’s their mission to bring this wonderful resource to as wide an audience as possible. They have created their products with this mind. When you purchase a rug or office mat from Anji Mountain Bamboo Rug Co., you help support the ecologically responsible practice of regulating sustainable bamboo forests instead of clear-cutting old-growth hardwood forests. Also, the dense, durable bamboo used by Anji Mountain Bamboo Rug Co is carbonized and kiln dried to remove moisture. This helps prevent cracking and warping so their rugs and chair mats are ready to withstand the dry heat of your home or office in the wintertime or the arid climate of those living in the desert and mountains.

About Bamboo
According to the Anji Bamboo rug company Bamboo is a remarkable and renewable resource. Depending on the species, bamboo can be harvested in one to five years. Hardwoods like oak take at least forty years to mature before they can be harvested. Almost 1 million acres of forests are lost each week worldwide to deforestation. Bamboo’s versatility as a substitute for hardwoods offers a chance to drastically reduce that figure and protect the forests that we have left. Bamboo absorbs carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of hardwood trees. Bamboo grows at an astonishing rate. Some species of bamboo grow more than three feet each day! No plant on the planet grows at a faster rate. When it is harvested, it will grow a new shoot from its extensive root system with no need for additional planting or cultivation. Virtually every part of the bamboo plant can be used to make a wide variety of products: everything from soil-enriching mulch to beautiful furniture to chopsticks. Bamboo can replace the use of wood for nearly every application. Paper, flooring, furniture, charcoal, building materials, and much more can be made from bamboo. What’s more, bamboo fibers are far stronger than wood fibers and much less likely to warp from changing atmospheric conditions. No fertilizer, pesticides, or herbicides are needed to grow bamboo.

Also, according to the Anji Bamboo Rug Company Panda habitats are not affected by their use of bamboo. Although bamboo makes up 99% of a Panda’s diet in the wild .they do not eat the species of bamboo we they use in their products(Moso bamboo). Furthermore, the Giant Panda doesn’t inhabit the mountain range where their bamboo is sustainably harvested. So, you can rest assured that our bamboo is Panda friendly.

A note about Azo-free dye:
Azo dyes and pigments are commonly used to color textiles and plastics. Some of the by-products, such as chlorinated aromatic amines, are toxic and may be potential carcinogens. The European Commission has recently passed directive 76/769EEC, which bans the usage of certain Azo dyes for use in any textile or leather product which may come in ""direct or prolonged"" contact with the skin or mouth. Also, Azo dyes and pigments resist biodegradation under aerobic conditions, so they are difficult to remove from an ecosystem.
